I'm pivoting my writing project
Let's read through the entire Bible together in 2027
So many of you have been asking me, “How’s the writing going?” I appreciate that- thanks for your encouragement.
The work has been ongoing, and while I was working on it, I learned a couple of things. For one, a lot has already been written on this topic- and I don’t think I have anything more to say. Second, I don’t think I’m the right person to add to this conversation.
Consequently, I’m shifting the topic of my project.
Instead, I’m writing a guide to help you read through the entire Bible in a year. This guide will have a different approach than I’ve seen before. It avoids getting bogged down in daily reading checklists, which can be hard to keep up with. It also encourages you to read the Bible together with other people- which can help when you get lost and confused in the details.
I’m inviting you to participate in this over 2027. I’ll host a regular online meeting group of people who are also reading through the Bible together. We will meet once or twice a month to talk about what we’ve read.
And I’d like to use this group to vet my book with you. I’ll introduce you to some concepts and ideas that will help you with what you’re reading.
You know, even if you don’t consider yourself a Christian, I think you will find this group very interesting- and I’d like to invite you to participate as well. The fact is that so much of Western culture got its start in the Bible, and you might find it helps you better understand the world around you. Even if you disagree with the conclusions some Christians come to, I think you will better understand where they are coming from- and that can help you better engage with people, even if you disagree with them.
If you’d like to participate, the best way is to subscribe to this Substack.
That’s where I’ll make the announcements about this group and give the dates and times (and online meeting links) for your participation.
I hope you can join us. I’m looking forward to it!
